Acute Care
Applicants must have two or more years of recent work experience transcribing inpatient medical record reports, which include history and physical, operative, consultations, discharge summaries and emergencey room reports, or have obtained a certificate or diploma in Medical Transcription within the last 6 months.
Oncology
Applicants must have two or more years of recent work experience transcribing hospital based oncology reports, which includes procedure notes, discharge summaries, consulations and clinic notes.
Radiology
Applicants must have two or more years of recent work experience transcribing diagnostic imaging reports, which include x-rays, MRI, CT, nuclear medicine and mammography reports.
Pathology
Applicants must have two or more years of recent work experience transcribing reports, which include surgical specimens, autopsy and cytology reports.
Applicants who do not meet the above requirements will not be considered for medical transcription positions.
Please note that the following experience CANNOT be considered in lieu of the requirement for two years of medical transcription experience:
Educational training and internships or experience such as:

a healthcare professional (nurse, medical assistant, physical therapist, lab technician, etc.)

an administrative assistant, legal assistant, court reporter or general transcriptionist.

a worker's compensation or insurance company transcriptionist.

a medical biller or coder.
